Former Judge and former DGP named in committee on jail reforms

Kerala government today proposed the names of former High Court judge N K Balakrishnan and former Jail DGP MGA Raman as committee members to monitor the implementation of activities undertaken by the state in prisons.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and justice P R Ramachandra Menon, directed the government to place on record the terms and conditions, powers and responsbilities of the committee when a petition on jail reforms came up before the court.

The bench posted the matter after 10 days.
