Four killed in firing in Mainpuri

Four persons were today killed allegedly by six bike-borne men at Asrohi village crossing in Karhal police station area here, police said.

Akhilesh (27), Natiya (25), Neeraj (30) and Sonu (22) were killed when six persons arrived on three motorcycles and opened fire on them following which they fled from the spot, Superintendent of Police Srikant Yadav said.

The incident appears to be the fallout of an old rivalry over election for the post of pradhan, the SP said.
