Freight rate of select centres eases

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations weakened by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy availability of trucks against cargo movements.

Transporters said heavy position of trucks in the markets against restricted cargo movements, led to the decline in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Kanpur, Surat and Baroda freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 25,000.

Gwalior and Mysore freight rates were also down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 14,000 and Rs 70,000.
