Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following the shortage of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said besides fresh cargo movements, paucity of trucks in the market pushed up freight rates of some of the centres.
Delhi to Goa, Coimbatore, Surat and Kanpur freights went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 59,000, Rs 69,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively.
Rates to Baroda, Patna, Pune and Kolkata also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 27,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 32,000, respectively.
