Fresh snowfall at isolated places in HP

Fresh snowfall occurred at isolated places in high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh while lower regions experienced light rains, MeT officials said today.

There was no significant change in minimum and maximum temperatures but the sky remained partially overcast and strong winds swept the mid and higher hills, they said.

High-altitude tribal areas and mountain passes had another spell of moderate snowfall. Kalpa and Keylong recorded 10 cm and 4 cm of fresh snowfall, officials said

Rains lashed Chamba region and Dalhousie, Salooni and Chamba received 14 mm, 10mm and 7mm of rains respectively.

Minimum temperature stayed at minus 8.1 degrees Celsius in Keylong and minus 3 degrees Celsius in Kalpa while Manali recorded at 1. 2 degrees Celsius.
 

The lower hills were warmer and Unain the foothills was hottest with a maximum temperature at 29 degrees Celsius.

Nahan recorded 24.4 degrees Celsius , Solan 20.5 degrees Celsius, Dharmshala 19.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 18.7 degrees Celsius and Shimla 16.3 degrees Celsius.

The MeT has predicted dry weather in the region over next four days.
