Gang of three robbers nabbed in Faridabad

Three persons were nabbed while they were allegedly planning to rob commuters in the district, police said today.

ASI Anil Kumar, Crime Branch NIT Faridabad, was on a routine check with his team around 7.30 PM yesterday in the Sector-31 Police Station area here, police said.

On suspicion, they checked three men and found them carrying arms with them. The trio was arrested at a time when they were planning to rob the commuters in the area, police said.

The trio were identified as Preetpal, a resident of Ropar in Punjab, Mohammad Imtiyaz and Pankaj - both residents of Gaya in Bihar, police said.
 

Police recovered one country made pistol 315 bore, a live cartridge, one knife and a packet of chilli powder, which they carried to make their victims go blind before robbing him, they said.

A case has been registered with the police station under sections 398 and 401 of IPC and sections 25, 54 and 59 of Arms Act.

The police have started investigations in the case, Investigating Officer ASI Ishwar said.
