Gayatri Prajapati's two accomplices surrender before court

Former Uttar Pradesh minister Gayatri Prajapati's accomplices Amrendra Singh alias Pintoo and Vikas Verma today surrendered before a special POCSO court.

Both of them had been released on bail but later their bail orders were kept in abeyance by the Allahabad High Court. They were absconding.

While staying bail granted to Prajapati in a gang rape case on April 28, the HC had directed the police to take them in to custody.

The order was passed by Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale on an application moved by the state government through Additional Advocate General V K Shahi seeking cancellation of bail granted to Prajapati and two other co-accused in the case.
 

The accomplices had approached the Supreme Court but it had asked them to approach the HC.

Their pleas are listed to

be heard in HC on May 26.

The judge of the special court, O P Mishra, who had granted bail to Prajapati was suspended on April 29 by the high court for giving him the relief.
