Shares of General Insurance Corporation of India soared nearly 13 per cent today after the company reported around two-fold jump in net profit for the first quarter of 2018-19 compared to the year-ago period.
The stock advanced by 12.65 per cent to close at Rs 376.75 on the BSE. Intra-day, it jumped 14.51 per cent to Rs 383.
On the NSE, shares of the company rose sharply by 12.33 per cent to settle at Rs 375.20.
General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re) today reported around two-fold jump in net profit at Rs 771.42 crore for the first quarter of 2018-19 compared to the year-ago period.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 390.11 crore for the corresponding April-June period of 2017-18.
