Germany's Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel today hailed projected results in France's first-round presidential vote putting centrist Emmanuel Macron ahead of far-right leader Marine Le Pen.
The Social Democrat said he was "sure" Macron would be elected president in the run-off on May 7.
