A 12-year old girl was killed when her hair got stuck in the generator machine used for illumination of a Kali Puja immersion procession at Kanksa in Burdwan district tonight.
A Police officer said the skull of Rita Ghosh got ripped off when her long hair got entangled with the motor of the generator machine all of a sudden and the people at the immersion procession were aghast at the horrific scene.
Rita was sitting on the same cycle van in which the gen set was kept.
Thee girl was declared broght dead at hospital.
Generators are used for illumination with LED lamps at immersion processions of idols in Bengal and Odisha among others.
