The geographic information system (GIS) mapping of pipeline network of water supply in the rural areas of Haryana would be carried out, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Banwari Lal said here today.
"After GIS mapping, the Public Health Engineering Department will carry out geo-tagging of all assets in villages and towns," Lal said in an official release, adding that the department has sent a written communication to all superintending engineers and executive engineers in the state.
He said that they have been directed to complete this work in the prescribed time period.
The minister said that the marking of installations of tubewells, canal-based water works and boosters would be completed by May 21.
