The women's wing of the Goa Foward Party Sunday demanded that casinos on Mandovi River should be moved out as it was "affecting" women.

Nearly half a dozen vessels on Mandovi river with casinos on them are currently operating in the state.

The GFP's new wing was launched Sunday and has been christened Goa Women Foward (GWF).

Its chief Ashma Sayed said, "These casinos should be removed as they are affecting women."

She also demanded that the contracts for beach cleaning be given to women in the state in order to generate employment for them.

The GFP is a constituent of Manohar Parrikar government in the coastal state.
