Good start for Gangjee in Crowns tournament in Japan

Rahil Gangjee found two birdies in last three holes for a good one-under 69 to start with in the Crowns 2018 tournament on the Japan Tour today.

The 39-year-old Gangjee, who got into the tournament following a win last week at the Panasonic Open Japan, was lying tied 21st and four shots behind the leaders, Anthony Quayle and Rikuya Hoshino, who carded 5-under 65 each.

Gangjee, who has a card on Japan till end of 2020, had pars for the first 12 holes, before he bogeyed the par-3 13th.

He birdied the 16th and 18th to finish at 69 on the Par-70 Nagoya Golf Club Wago Course.

 

The top-60 and ties will make the cut.

Gangjee is only the third Indian after Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa to hold a card on Japan Tour.
