Government releases Rs 33 lakh to police department

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today handed a cheque for Rs 33.20 lakh to the police department for the purchase of vehicles for patrolling.

The financial assistance was released from out of the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the Director General of Police S K Gautam.

The amount would be used to purchase five Bolero type of vehicles to augment patrolling in Karaikal region, an official release said.
