Karnataka government has decided to sanction a grant of Rs 50 lakh for the three-day Vishwa Tuluvere Parba (Global Tulu Festival) scheduled to be held here from December 12.
This was announced by district in charge minister B Ramanatha Rai at a preparatory meeting for the festival in the city yesterday, a release here said.
Organising committee member Navaneeth Shetty Kadri said the festival would cost Rs 2.5 crore and the remaining funds could be raised with the co-operation of various departments and other sources.
Rai said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was likely to attend the valedictory function of the festival on December 14. Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim was also present at the meeting.
