Groundnut oil firms up on steady demand

Refined palmolein also edged up on good retail buying support on the back of bullish Malayasian cues.

In the non-edible section, linseedoil strengthened on consistent demand from paint and allied industries, while castorseed bold and castor oil commercial held steady in the absence of any largescale buying.

In futures, castorseeds inched up amid speculative trade following better export enquiries.

In edible segment, groundnut oil rose by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,140 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,130. Refined palmolein moved up Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 520 from Rs 518.

In non-edible segment, linseedoil climbed by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 800 from overnight close of Rs 795. Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial both closed unchanged at Rs 3,525 and Rs 735 per 10 kg.

 

Turning to futures, castorseed December contract resumed lower at Rs 3,990 and drifted further to Rs 3,952 before ending at Rs 4,004 as compared to Rs 4,001 yesterday, showing a marginal gain of Rs 3 per tonne.
