Gur prices slip on arrivals of new stocks

Gur (jaggery) prices plunged by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today, dragged down by arrival of new stocks amid limited demand.

Muradnagar gur markets also displayed a similar trend with prices plummeting by Rs 150 per quintal.

Marketmen said heavy arrivals of new gur in the markets, against limited offtake by stockists and retailers, mainly led to fall in prices.

In Delhi, gur pedi slipped by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 3,800-3,900 per quintal.

At Muradnagar, gur dhayya prices tumbled down by Rs 150 to finish at Rs 3,450-3,550 per quintal.

Gur pedi price also came down sharply by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal.
 

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,700-3,800, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 4,000-4,100 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 3,250-3,300, chakku Rs 3,250-3,350, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,300-3,400 and dhayya Rs 3,450-3,550.
