A Haryana-based private engineering college has won the India leg of Imagine Cup 2013, a competition organised by Microsoft that allows students to come up with ground-breaking solutions to global problems and even turn their ideas into a business.
Team 'Path Finders' from Manav Rachna College of Engineering in Faridabad will represent the country at the worldwide finals to be held at St Petersburg (Russia) in July.
The winning team has developed a model 'Swasthya Sanjivani', which aims at providing affordable, approachable, quick and automised healthcare services to people in remote areas, Microsoft Corporation (India) Private Ltd chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said in a function held here today.

He said every year students participating in the event show remarkable leadership in adopting new technologies and championing social transformation.
Later at a press conference, Pramanik said Microsoft is creating an environment where students take ideas further to create and commercialise that into a company.
Replying to a query on company's growth in India, he said the IT giant expects to grow slightly above the industry growth in India. He, however did not put any figure to the growth rate.
Over the past 10 years, more than 1.65 million students from across 190 countries have participated in the Imagine Cup.
