Health authorities crack whip on private scan centres

Two private scan centres were today sealed for violating provisions of the Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994 Act, here, officials said.

The action followed raids on scan centres by members of the Inspection and Monitoring Committee constituted under the Act.

A Health Department release said inspection of the centres was launched in keeping with the directives of the Supreme Court and also directions given by Secretary to Health, Puducherry.
