Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today stressed on the role of health and eduction in progress and development saying people should become aware about the life and environment and remain alert toward diseases.
Launching a book on health "Hum aur Hamara Swasthya" here, he said through this book people could be made aware of taking preventive steps before they fall ill.
Yadav said if important points related to diseases were included in the school curriculum then a lot of change could be brought in the society.
Efforts were being made to create public awareness on public health through schools and students, the CM said, adding that for a healthy and civil society it was necessary that people should become aware about the life and environment and remain alert towards diseases.
He said that the book, by Hope Foundation, has been included in the curriculum of secondary schools and kept in basic, junior and aided schools.
He also highlighted the medical facilities being provided by the state government.
