Uttar Pradesh continued to experience sweltering heat today with mercury touching 46.4 degrees Celsius in Allahabad, which was the hottest in the state.
According to the MeT department here, highest maximum temperature over the state was recorded at Allahabad with mercury touching 46.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.
Agra and Banda also recorded over 46 degrees Celsius, with 46.1 and 46.2 degrees Celsius respectively while Kanpur city had 45.2 degrees Celsius, it said.

The state capital Lucknow also experienced very high temperature with maximum temperature of 44.3 (+4) degrees Celsius, it said.
The MeT department has forecast that rain/thundershowers would occur at isolated places while duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied with squall would occur at isolated places tomorrow.
