Hejmadi gets Biju Patnaik Award for Wildlife Conservation

Eminent scientist Priyambada Mohanty-Hejmadi has been conferred with the Biju Patnaik Award for Wildlife Conservation for 2013-14.

Hejmadi, who is presently abroad, e-mailed her acceptance letter to the Forest and Environment Department, department sources said.

Hejmadi was honoured at a function here yesterday marking the 60th Wildlife Week celebration here.

The award comprises a trophy, citation and Rs 2 lakh.

Six students were also felicitated on the occasion.
