Alec Baldwin's pregnant wife Hilaria Thomas is facing a lawsuit after a student suffered a crippling injury in his leg in an accident during her crowded yoga class.
The student, Spencer Wolff, 32, ripped open his left leg and foot after he lost his balance and crashed into a sixth-floor window while performing a handstand at Yoga Vida near Union Square on January 15, reported New York Post.
The dramatic fall sent shards of glass flying into the street, smeared blood across the floor and left Wolff, a Yale-educated Huffington Post blogger, with a crippling injury, said witnesses and Wolff's lawyer.
"It's your fault! It's your fault!" a student screamed at Thomas after the accident, according to a witness.
But a friend of Thomas said she'd instructed Wolff that he was doing the handstand incorrectly.
Thomas is one of the most sought-after yoga instructors in the city and sources said the studio was so jam-packed that Wolff, an experienced yoga practitioner, was forced to perform his handstand too close to the window.
Wolff fell to his side, causing his left foot to smash "straight through the window," a student said. A jagged piece of glass cut deep into his leg just below the knee, slicing it open in five places.
Wolff was rushed to the hospital by paramedics.
The suit alleges Thomas, 28, put students in a position of "extreme danger" by letting them "exceed a safe and/or maximum allowable number of persons."
