Hisar Central Jail was inaugurated today by Haryana Director General Prisons Yash Pal Singhal.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he said, "The jail department in Haryana will soon shift women prisoners to jails of their home districts."
The department has decided to purchase raw material from market and provide the same to women prisoners for producing domestic and utility items, Singhal said, adding that eighty per cent of the proceeds from these products would directly go to the accounts of women prisoners, while twenty percent will be spent on their welfare schemes.
