A notorious history-sheeter, who was leading a gang that extorted money from builders in the city, was arrested today, police said.
Aslam Sheikh alias Bodio was nabbed from Chakli Circle area when he was on his way to meet a lawyer, E Radhakrishnan, Police Commissioner, told PTI.
Bodio is reportedly the leader of "Bicchhu Gang" that was mainly involved in extortion from builders, he said.
He was also wanted in a number of criminal cases related to rioting, assault, theft and bootlegging, among others, lodged in police station across the city, Radhakrishnan added.
