Hoax bomb threat to DD transmission station in Tamil Nadu

A bomb threat to the Doordarshan high power transmission station here has turned out to be a hoax, police said today.

A letter was recieved on Saturday stating that a bomb would go off in the centre following which DD officials lodged a police complaint.

Police said they carried out a thorough search but found no explosives.

They traced the letter to one Kannabiran, who is stated to be mentally ill.

The man, who is being questioned, was said to have told police that he acted on his 'inner voice'.
