Home Guard rescues crow entangled in kite thread

A crow which had got entangled in kite thread at 70 feet high atop a tower in Madannapet area here was rescued after a Home Guard climbed the tower and freed the bird, police said today.

"Yesterday afternoon, a call was received by the control room stating that one crow had got trapped in kite thread atop a tower," said Madannapet Police Station Inspector KPV Raju.

"The call was automatically connected to a patrolling vehicle and the vehicle reached the spot. The vehicle's driver Krishna, a Home Guard, climbed the tower till 70 feet high where the crow was caught and saved the bird and let it fly away," Raju added.
 

The tower, which is over 100 feet high was erected for transmission of communication services for Metro Rail, but it was unused, the Inspector said.
