Honda Motorcycle & Scooter sales up 3% in May

Exports rose by 2.9% to 13,786 units against 13,394 units in the same month a year ago

Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported a 3.28 per cent increase in total sales at 3,67,226 units in May.

The company had sold 3,55,530 units in the corresponding month last year, HMSI said in a statement.

HMSI's motorcycle sales, however, declined 9.54 per cent to 1,38,140 units last month from 1,52,714 units last year.

The company's scooter sales jumped by 13.66 per cent to 2,15,300 units from 1,89,422 units in May 2014, it added.

Exports rose by 2.92 per cent to 13,786 units against 13,394 units in the same month a year ago, it said.
