House of militant outfit's president torched in Manipur

The residence house of 'president' of outlawed Zomi reunification Organisation (ZRO) at Churachandpur town of Manipur was torched by local women this afternoon.

Police said president Thanglianpao Guite's house was reduced to ashes as the local women prevented people to go near it to control the blaze.

The motive for torching the house was yet to be ascertained and police investigation into the incident is on, the police said.

ZRO is one of the militant outfits which came under tripartite Suspension of Operation for peace talks between Centre, Manipur government and Kuki National Organisation and United People Front.
