Houses will be constructed for urban poor in Haryana under Rajiv Awaas Yojna to ensure basic amenities to beneficiaries and make the state slum free, Urban Local Bodies Minister Savitri Jindal said today.
Jindal, who was presiding over a review meeting of the department here, said the Central government has accorded approval for construction of houses in four towns under the scheme.
She said that houses would be constructed at Rohtak, Sirsa, Yamunanagar and Ambala under the scheme.

Rs 95.89 crore would be spent at Rohtak, Rs 59.83 crore at Ambala, Rs 95 crore at Sirsa and Rs 60.37 crore at Yamunanagar for construction of the houses.
Proposals have been forwarded to the Central government to implement the scheme in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Hisar and Panchkula also. She said a total of Rs 609.46 crore would be spent under this scheme.
