With rain remaining elusive in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, humid conditions today prevailed in the region, making life tough for people.
Mercury hovered around normal level in various parts of Punjab and Haryana.
UT Chandigarh recorded mercury at 34.6 deg Celsius. The capital of both the states received scanty rainfall at 1.7 mm, Met office said here.

In Punjab, Amritsar had a high of 34.2 deg C while Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 34 and 34.2 deg C.
In Haryana, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul recorded mercury at 35.2 deg C, 33 deg C and 34.6 deg C respectively.
Ambala and Bhiwani had high of 34.7 deg Celsius and 35.4 deg Celsius with rainfall of 0.2 mm and 1.2 mm respectively.
Met officials forecast light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana.
