India, China, Russia discuss prospects of coop on Afghanistan

India, China and Russia today discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the prospects of regional cooperation there.

The issue was discussed at a meeting of Deputy NSAs of the three countries here under the trilateral Russia-India-China (RIC) format.

"The participants exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and prospects of regional cooperation. They agreed to remain engaged with each other in RIC trilateral format with a view to helping bring peace and stability in the region," said a statement issued by the National Security Council Secretariat.

This was the second such meeting. The first was held in Beijing in January 2014.
