India lose to Kazakhstan 67-80 in Asia Basketball Championship

India today lost to Kazakhstan 67-80 in a Group D encounter of the 27th Asian Men's Basketball Championship in Manila, Philippines.

Vishesh Bhriguvanshi was India's top scorer with 19 points followed by Narender Kumar Grewal (14) and Joginder Singh (10).

For Kazakhstan, Mikhail Yevstigneyev had 21 points while Jerri Johnson took 16. Rustam Yargaliyev and Anton Ponomarev also chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively.

India's qualification to the next round depends on the match between Thailand and Bahrain, to be played later in the day.

If Bahrain beat Thailand, India will automatically qualify. The top three teams of every group advance to the next round.
