Indian challenge ends at World TT championship

Ace Indian paddler Achantha Sharath Kamal crashed out of the men's singles event at the World Table Tennis Championships in Paris after going down to Germany's Timo Boll 1-4 in the second round.

Sharath Kamal (69) got off to a flying start as he grabbed the first game 11-9 against the fifth seed.

The 30-year-old Indian continued to fight hard against his team-mate at Borussia D�sseldorf, a German table tennis club, but lost the second game 10-12.

Sharath Kamal found the former world number too hot to handle in the subsequent games and was floored 1-11 5-11 2-11 in the round of 64 match played last night.
 

Earlier, India's mixed doubles pair of Soumyajit Ghosh and Mouma Das went down 2-4 to Peng Tang and Wing Nam NG from Hong Kong.

In their round of 32 match, the Indian duo tried hard to match their formidable opponents but lost the contest 8-11 11-7 8-11 14-12 9-11 7-11.
