As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, a motorcycle expedition was flagged off today from the Indian Naval Academy at nearby Ezhimala.
Vice-Admiral P Ajit Kumar, Commandant, INA, launched the expedition which will cover schools and colleges in northern Kerala districts of Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kasargod and highlight gallant action and sacrifices of the soldiers during the war.
Two officers and six sailors from INS Zamorin are taking part in the expedition from September 16 to 21, an INA release said.
The occasion will be utilised to motivate more youngsters to join the Indian Navy, it added.
