Haryana minister Manish Grover today described the INLD-BSP alliance as a "marriage of convenience" which they entered into just to "grab power" in the state.

Finance Minister Abhimanyu claimed that the alliance would not bear fruit as their culture and ideology were opposed to each other.

"Greed for power of the leaders of two parties, which have been out of power for a long time, has brought them together," he alleged.

They were interacting with reporters after a workshop on integrated development of cooperatives organised by the National Cooperative Development Corporation here.

Replying to a question on politics over issues concerning scheduled castes, Grover, the minister of state for cooperation, said the people of the community were with the BJP, and not with the opposition party.

"Both the INLD and the Congress never did anything for SCs and the people of this community do not believe in any party other than BJP, he said.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and BSP yesterday entered into an alliance and announced that both parties would jointly contest next year's Lok Sabha and Haryana assembly polls.
