An inter-state drug trafficking racket was today busted by police with the arrest of five persons and recovery of 70 kg of ganja sourced from Andhra Pradesh.

Police said they found an autorickshaw parked suspiciously near an apartment complex in Choolaimedu area with four persons in it during their regular check up.

Questioning revealed that the four were working for a ganja kingpin, who sourced the narcotic from Andhra Pradesh, they said.

The man was later arrested.

All the four persons, including two women, were produced in court and later lodged in prison, they said.

The value of the seized ganja was being ascertained, police said.
