J-K govt suspends 9 teachers in Poonch

Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended nine teachers for remaining absent from their duties and non-maintenance of their records in the district.

Chief Education Officer (CEO) Lal Hussain today sent a team of officials to conduct surprise visit of various schools to ensure punctuality and work culture of the schools in border district of Poonch, an Education department officer said.

During the visit, the team found Bodh Raj (senior teacher), Rakesh Thappa, Farooq Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed, Janghir Alam and Ruqla Bi (all teachers) and Master Mohmmad Aslam, absent from duty, he said, adding, two other teachers, Mohmmad Arif and Hamida Begum, had not maintained records of attendance and mid-day meals properly.
 

Taking serious view of the above, JCEO ordered their suspension, he said.

Similarly, CEO also ordered a chargesheet against 9 teachers and class-IV employees for dereliction of duty and their wages have been stopped, the officer added.
