J-K increases prize money for artisans

"The government in a bid to encourage the talented artisans has enhanced the prize money of the annual state awards in handicraft sector from Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000 from year 2012-13 in each craft," an official of the Handicraft Department said today.

The prize money for the 2nd and 3rd positions has also been enhanced to Rs 30,000 and 20,000 respectively, he said.
