J-K Teen girl rescued within hours of kidnapping, accused held

A 15-year-old girl was rescued within hours of her kidnapping in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said today.

The girl's kidnapper was also arrested during the rescue operation, a police spokesman said.

He said that brother the girl, hailing from of Shankerpora village of Anantnag, informed Dooru police station that his sister has been kidnapped by Subzar Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Achabal.

"On this information, police swung into action, and recovered the girl and arrested the kidnapper within hours," the spokesman said.

He said a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
