Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today handed over a relief cheque of Rs five lakh to the wife of an Indian fisherman killed in Saudi Arabia recently.
Jayalalithaa handed over a cheque for the amount to S Mary Bellaji, wife of Mathivalan, who was gunned down by unidentified persons while fishing in Saudi Arabian waters last month, a state government release here said.
It recalled that Jayalalithaa had taken up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the issue of expediting the process of sending his body home at the earliest besides ensuring his cash benefits from his employer through Indian Embassy there.
