: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today entrusted Chief Secretary S M Vijayanand to hold discussions with service organisations the issues in connection with formation of Kerala Administrative Service (KAS).
The decision was taken based on a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister on the matter by the members of Secretariate Employees Association.
The CM's move assumes significance as protests have been mounting against the CPI(M)-led LDF government's decision to go ahead with the decision of formation of KAS.
A section of employees of the government secretariat even went on a one-day strike recently protesting against the move.
