The allotments under Kashiram Awas Yojana will be cancelled if the allottees rent out their homes, instead of living themselves, authorities said today.
The city Development Authority said there were complaints that some beneficiaries of the Yojana rent their homes and also several of themare vacant.
City Development Authority project director SB Singh said the allottees weregiven chance to respond to the notices served to them in this regardbut not many responded.

The allotments to the allottees who have not replied will becancelled and the houses vacated, he said.
In an inquiry conducted in 2014 by the sub-divisional magistrate, 300 allotees were found to have rented their homes and notices were issued to them but they did not respond, officials said.
When notices were served to them again, only 16 replied.
Later on an inquiry by the Nagar Palika found 236 allottees were violating the rule and notices were served to them but they have not responded, they said.
