Slamming the separatist leader for threatening to launch an agitation against the widening of the track , Panun Kashmir appealed to authorities not to pay heed to "his communal outbursts under the guises of his love and concern of ecology."
"Had the love for environment and ecology been the real cause of concern for the Hurriyat leader, he should have expressed the similar apprehensions when Daksum-Kishtwar road and Moghal road were constructed cutting through forests. Why pollution and huge encroachments of famous Dal Lake has not disturbed Geelani in the past," the outfit's convener, Agnishekhar, said at a political affairs committee meeting.
Geelani had yesterday threatened to launch an agitation after Eid against the plans to construct a road to Amarnath shrine in south Kashmir.
