Amid International Yoga Day celebrations across the country today, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who skipped the event here, chose to hold his routine programme of meeting people at Puthupally, his home constituency in Kottayam district.
In a Facebook posting, Chandy said he cannot break the routine of meeting people of his constituency on Saturday or Sunday.
"I am a member of the state Assembly for the past 45 years. I used to be at Puthupally, my constituency, every Saturday evening or Sunday morning. I do not wish to break this routine."

"It is an opportunity for me to meet people and for them a chance to convey their issues to me... It is also my responsibility as an MLA," Chandy said in his posting.
The Yoga Day celebrations was inaugurated by state Health Minister V S Sivakumar at the Central stadium here.
