Kerala Environment Congress from Aug 22

: The two day Kerala Environment Congress, being held here from August 22, will be inaugurated by former President, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.

The theme of the Congress, being organised by the Centre for Environment and Development (CED), is 'Water and Energy Security-- Isuues, Challenges and Potenials'.

Kochi Mayor Tony Chamany will preside over the inaugural function.

The Congress will include keynote address, invited paper presentations by experts on 14 sub-themes and paper presentations by young researchers for Young Scientist award.

There will also be an 'open forum' on Aug 23, in which policy makers and technical experts and scientists will participate.
 

At least 300 delegates, mainly from kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are expected to participate, a press release said.
