US Secretary of State John Kerry will host an annual forum here on November 21 in coordination with Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong that aims to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The fourth US-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange aims to promote and strengthen ties in the fields of education, culture, science and technology, sports and women's issues, an official statement said.
It provides a high-level annual forum for government and private-sector representatives to discuss cooperation on exchanges in a broad strategic manner, the State Department said.
"Recognising the fundamental role that citizens play in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between our two countries, the United States and China inaugurated the CPE in Beijing in May 2010, and held subsequent consultations in April 2011 in Washington and in May 2012 in Beijing," the State Department said.
