Lal Thanhawla re-elected MPCC chief

Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla was today re-elected unopposed President of the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee in the party's organisational election here.

Home Minister R Lalzirliana and State Planning Board Vice Chairman H Liansailova were also re-elected unopposed as Vice President and Treasurer of the MPCC respectively.

The five-time chief minister was first elected as the MPCC president in 1973 and had continued to hold the coveted post since then except for a brief period when Hrangaia, Lalduhoma and Sainghaka led the MPCC.
