The state government has identified lands in Jodbeed and Bhinasar for the development of Rajasthan's first cow sanctuary in Bikaner district, state Forest and Environment Minister Rajkumar Rinwa today said.
Rinwa said possibilities would also be explored to set up the sanctuary elsewhere in the district apart from the two identified places, according to a spokesperson.
Chairing a review meeting at District Collector Office today, the minister said the initiative would help conserve cows.

Ponds, clusters of Sewan grass and other facilities would also be developed within the sanctuary.
Formal announcement would be made by Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Other issues pertaining to the district were also taken up in the meeting, which was attended by district collector Aarti Dogra and other officers.
