Lankan court extends remand of 9 TN fishermen till Sept 30

A Sri Lankan court today extended till September 30 the judicial remand of nine local fishermen, arrested by the Lankan Navy on September 2.

Rameswaram fishermen organisation president S Emerite said the Oorkavalthurai court judge remanded them till September 30 when they were produced in court.

The fishermen were fishing near Katchatheevu when they were arrested. Later, they were lodged in a Jaffna prison.
